Dr. Alexis Stokes

Associate Professor of Business Law
Dr. Alexis Stokes manages McCoy College faculty policies, research initiatives, global programming, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. As Associate Dean, Dr. Stokes is committed to helping facilitate, honor, and showcase McCoy College’s business relevant, socially impactful research. In her own scholarship, Dr. Stokes focuses on corporate governance, securities regulation (specifically abusive/naked short selling), constitutional issues in the workplace, and international arbitration. Her work has been published in the New York University Journal of Law and Business, the Harvard Journal on Legislation, the American University International Law Review, the Texas A&M Law Review, Business Law International, and the Journal of Taxation and Regulation of Financial Institutions, among others. Dr. Stokes earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Political Science, and Managerial Studies from Rice University and her Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School, where she served as president and editor-in-chief of the Harvard Journal on Legislation.
With over 13 years of service with Texas State University, Ms. Natoli’s background includes program management, event coordinating, and community engagement. As the research coordinator for the college, she helps faculty develop their ideas for research projects, find and apply for funding opportunities, and manage their awards. Her goal is to help faculty make connections with other faculty members on campus and with organizations in the community to form interdisciplinary collaborations.
